Mona Houck advises media organizations and handles intellectual property litigation, libel defense and prepublication review.

Before joining the firm, Mona Houck worked as a reporter and an editor for newspapers ranging from a small Iowa weekly to The New York Times, where she was an editor on the national desk for 10 years. She was a law clerk for the Honorable Robert C. Chambers in the Southern District of West Virginia and is an adjunct professor at New York Law School and at the Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, where she teaches Legal and Ethical Issues in Journalism.

She is a graduate of Drake University and New York Law School, where she was a member of the Law Review and the Media Law & Policy journal. She is a member of the Media Law Resource Center, the New York City Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers’ Association and the American Bar Association.
